Before humans can grow plants on Mars, we need to irrigate plants under reduced gravitational conditions. “When we come to the moon and Mars, we would like to be able to grow plants, both for food and for life support systems,” says Ann-Iren Kittang Jost, research manager at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Space (CIRiS).
