Growing plants in space

On January 16, 2016 astronaut Scott Kelly twittered from the International Space Station: "First ever flower grown in space makes its debut". How difficult is it really to grow plants without gravity? In this interview, Leo Marcelis, professor at Wageningen University and part of the TIME SCALE project, discusses the how and why of doing research on growing plants in space.
